Indications / Uses Caries indicators such as PROMARKER C are used to help dentists distinguish between discolored and decayed dentin during fillings. Although discolored dentin is not contaminated with bacteria and is softer than healthy dentin, it should not be removed; however, infected dentin must be removed before filling. How to use: • Isolate the tooth completely • After washing and drying the decayed tooth, apply one drop of PROMARKER C to the affected area. • Wait 10 seconds and rinse with water. • Remove the blue-violet discolored external carious area from the tooth • Repeat this process as many times as necessary until no more blue-violet discoloration is present, i.e., until the decayed dentin is completely removed. • After removing the blue-violet discolored tissue, the cavity is ready to be filled.
